Sorry but I don't think the Japs are serving up this sort of cake ...

Don't be too sure...

And then there's this little rocket from Nissan that leaves that Ferrari in the dust...literally...

Those "Japs" are doing juuuust fine. ;)

^^^^ Yes, this. To each their own, but the idea that you have to settle for thousands of dollars in repairs to drive a nice car, has been proven a false premise.

Everyone has their own style they like, I personally think there is nothing more beautiful than an old Alfa. Again to each their own. My fathers SL was styled much better than the SC, but what good is style when it is never useable.

Uh huh. I'll stick with the F-car for sports car purposes. To each his own.

No one knocked the F-car. You said the "japs" don't serve supercar cake...and I showed you a couple...at least one of which your F-car can't keep up with on the track. Just responding... and as I'm all gimped up in my hospital bed and bored to death, I thought I'd throw in a couple examples.

Personally, I can't afford any of them...but I try to be fair. Ferrari is one beautiful beast. But Ferrari doesn't have a monopoly on "super." ;) What I think is cool about the GTR is...it is not only quicker...but actually makes a nice daily driver. No easy feat to pull off.

How long have you had your beautiful Ferrari?

Sorry, The GTR is a great track car but the interior quaility is not in the same league to AMG, Porsche 911, Ferrari. The GTR was designed to beat the 911 Turbo around a track, that's it. The exterior/interior styling is choppy and not well sculpted. A car is not just about speed and cornering, it has to have styling, beauty inside and out to be the complete package. Look at the Corvette, it's super fast with crappy interior. I have yet to see a Japanesse sports car still look relevant 10-20yrs later from production "classic" like an old AMG, Porsche 911,Ferrari,Lamborghini,M3. It's like new construction building ultra modern looking homes, but will look dated in 10yrs. Think of POP music today will not be classic like 80's Rock that still sounds cool today.

No disagreement here. The GTR is a $100k car, though, after all.

But please don't misunderstand. He was slamming "japs," in general, and I responded.

Nothing wrong with Ferrari's and all the Italian supers, etc. I was responding to a dis...and certainly not out to slam Ferraris... :) Just saying that Japan is no slouch...and the world's auto makers would do well to learn from them about a few things like reliability, etc.

Cheers to all, and to all a good...curvy...grippy road. As I drove portions of the amazingly curvy "million dollar highway" in Colorado last month...I was dreaming of what it would be like in a few of these supercars... Fun stuff!

I didn't mean to be smug. Everyone's definition of "best" is different.

My son thinks Toyota Tacomas are best. His "best" friend insists on Ram. His other friend insists on Ford. But best is defined differently for each.

My wife has a RRS and I have a LC. I think they are both best in their own ways.

If you are a Consumer Reports hound, Toyota is probably your car. If you prefer Robb Report, it might be an Aston Martin.

Variety is the spice of life.

Absolutely beautiful. No disagreement here. Beauty prize for sure and I don't think any japanese car comes close in that department. The GTR is a performer, but it's not a looker. If one didn't know any better...it blends in with a parking lot full of inexpensive imports. But wow. That thing scoots. ;) A sleeper...sort of like the LC in that way.

I feel compelled to respond to this. Lexus' are reliable AND "stuffed with gadgets" -all of which never break. AND all Lexus are not boring, either.

My RC-F 5.0 V8 sounds like a giant eating a mountain when I'm over 4500 rpm, and it has the mouth to do it. :)

With Lexus you can have your cake and eat it. No compromises necessary.

Yes, your neighbors LS is boring though!

I'll admit, that color on that car is pretty Dang! sweet!

If I could only have one car...

You do have good taste.

Sorry if I sounded this way or that. I think each vehicle can be appreciated for what it is. Any Ferrari make a GTR look cheesy... But I respect what Nissan has managed to squeeze into that price point...etc. All good stuff. Ferrari is SO super, that it's almost routine. So when a little guy comes up with a powerhouse, I think that's kinda cool...ya know?

RAM?!?! That's where I draw the line. He needs to ditch his friend. Lol!

I love the RCF. Congrats. It's a wonderful drive and you have one of my favorite colors too!

Lexus do stuff the car full of gadgets but those gadgets are almost always a generation behind the leader (S Class). However, your point still stands. Because even the simple things like power window motors fail in the Cayennes, Range Rovers, Panameras, etc.

ALL RIGHT ALREADY! Now, back, to the tech....

The LX versus the Range Rover is kind of like your high school love life: The LX is you're cute-ish, smart, and loyal girlfriend. The Range Rover is that hottie you keep spying at the football game and you know she couldn't replace your girl, but sure might be fun for a weekend when the parents are out of town!

...the Range Rover is a brute and technological marvel...she just is high maintenance.

So, what you are saying is that a RR is like that HOT girl in the very short mini-skirt down the street that requires you to BUY her a $600 purse during each date.... but "pays" you back later. :grinpimp:

Yeah, I know the type!

LOL!
