Going to take a bit of work to measure. Need more light. Besides the the exhaust run above the skid plate the original owner I bought it from has welded an extra piece to the skid plate under the PTO. Not sure but believe my rough measurement looks like the three speed shaft could be 53.5". I never worked on this and sure what is all required to mount the PTO. Can't just slide it onto the back of the transfer case. The transmission tail shaft nut needs to be there. My guess the small section meeds to be mounted with a drive gear replacing the spacer and the the other piece bolts on. @pardion guessing knows how these go together..

Here are pics of the gear and spacer that goes on the transmission tail shaft to operate the Ramsey PTO unit.

Does this spline section move when the lever on top is moved?

Looks like it slips over these splines.

What I fine interesting none of the pieces that fit the transmission tailshaft have a ten or sixteen spline. Have some Fairey overdrive stuff and those all those have splines for the tailshaft. This looks like it uses a keyway.

I don't remember the three having that long of a keyway. Four speeds do not have that keyway.

Personally like the factory PTO that bolts to the side of the transfer case. Besides being more common those are two direction. The winch I think is stronger stronger that factory that has the small mounting feet. Think this is a good deal just for the winch and driveshafts. Just a long ways away. Even in Texas could local pick up could be a long way.

I was referring to the lever that engages the PTO not the front driveshaft. It's the shaft with the lever in the section that bolts to the transfer case. Right side of the PTO in this picture.

I believe you need these pieces to get the PTO to work.

The driveshafts and winch are well worth the price. Just not sure if the parts the go on the transmission tailshaft aren't there how easy they are to find. I bought a Fairey overdrive once for cheap. The special studs used to mount the overdrive were left on the transfer case. I ended removing them in the summer laying on the hot asphalt. It's a common part that doesn't come with used ones. Guessing only then section with the splines is special and replaced a heavy washer. Sadly the washer is easy to replace but that spline piece is required to get the PTO to work. I could be wrong which I usually am but think you will find the lever moves the spline piece inside to slide and lock over the one in the picture.

spins fine. One is a little tighter.
@Living in the Past

Does the spline section inside the opening to the transfer case move in and out with the lever on top? That once engages and disengages the PTO. The spline piece you see does not slip over the transmission tailshaft. The Toyota two direction PTOs the input gear is always driven. Internally it switched between forward/neutral/reverse. The later single direction PTO the input gear moved over to the PTO gear in the transfer case. The Ramsey believe works the same way. Pretty sure if you don't have the mating spline piece the PTO will not work.

Whoever buys this setup is welcome to borrow my output shaft gear to have it reproduced.....unless somebody stumbles upon a pile of NOS Ramsey parts, reproducing that piece may be the only option to put this beauty back in service!
