Normally I'd just farm this out to Rob or someone, but I gotta stick to some kinda budget now (I really mean zero dollars kinda budget). I've got a huge list of stuff I need/want to do, but most if it ain't gonna happen. The radio stuff is possible though.

I want to install one of my cb's into the 80, and not do a hack job like I usually do, as well as clean up some of the PO stereo wiring. I kind of have very little patience, and tend to get frustrated easily, leading to bad things.

I think I have most of the crap required, such as the cb, antenna, extra wiring, soldering stuff, misc. wire connections, etc.

Anyone available in the near future for such an endeavor?

Not I, but I have a suggestion for where to put it. My VHF fit quite nicely on the side of the central ice box next to the driver, mic clips on the front of the ice box on top. Controls easy to reach, doesn't get in the way, but make sure you can apply your hand brake before you drill any holes.

Where the hell does one get cb stuff these days? I'd like to look at a different antenna, as the ones I have are a very short rubber one, and a very long eye gouging wire whip kind, along with some kind of mounting option brackets.
Canadian Tire just has a couple magnet mounts, and since Radio Shack pulled out, "The Source" has sweet fudge all.
I don't really relish the idea of driving downtown for something, anything out this away?

You just screwed it into the plastic console housing? It looks kinda thin, no screws poking inside?

I have a storage slot underneath my stereo (the bottom half of the factory double DIN), and it's probably going to go there. It just looks kind of funny 'cuz both the radios I have (a radio shack and a Uniden) are of that smallish size variety.
The other option I was entertaining was using the swing bracket the cb's came with and putting it below the dash/above the tranny tunnel cover, would look kinda butch though.

Could try here: Durham Radio Sales and Service Canada Don't even have to leave the house.
Locally, Com-West (Main & Marine) or Burnaby Radio (Hastings around Willingdon) these are more Ham shacks, but they carry some CB stuff.
GG

I ordered another Wilson Flex 4' from Durham this week. The price was good but it was around $10 to ship, which IIRC puts it pretty close to what they go for locally - if you can find one. Like Phil says though, don't have to leave the house...

Radioworld in toronto has CB stuff as well. I've ordered ham stuff from them in the past with no trouble. Radioworld : Amateur & Ham Radio GPS Chartplotters Fishfinders VHF Marine SSB radios Shortwave Radio Scanners CB GMRS Toronto Ontario Canada

Burnaby Radio had a decent selection last time I was in there, and they're good guys. I think I got my last wilson at NSOR, but that was a LONG time ago.

Gawd I hate this s***, pulled the dash to look at my stereo wiring and see about putting the cb in the lower DIN slot, too many frikkin wires! Put it back together, and now my climate control is all wonky.

I want a new job where I just beat s*** with a hammer, that would be so relaxing. And no I'm not at work today, we are down to 4 day, soon to be 3 days weeks probably.
