I have a Radiator support that came on my Aussie Fj45 that measures 23 1/2 out to out side of the frame, the radiator was shot so i ordered a new one from Specter. When i tried to install it was 1 1/2 narrower than the support. After some checking I found out I had the wrong support. To make a long story short I was wondering if anybody has an idea to what cruiser it belongs to. one guy i spoke to said it belonged to a troopy with AC. Can any one hellp!

A/c radiators are wider than non a/c rads. so the mount is wider also. you could have a rad shop recore your existing rad.

AFAIK they are rare, they were only made for a few years and only the a/c equipped rigs got them.
best bet would be to recore your existing unit.

So originally my 1981 45 didn't come with AC and somewhere down the line they threw an AC radiator and support in it from a cruiser that had air?. To bad i already got the smaller one and installed it. I was just trying to clean house of some part on Ebay and remembered that it was the big support and thought i better do some research do you have any idea what its worth? or maybe i should keep it for my next build?

Just possible the region in Australia was very hot and they installed the larger A/C model to help cool the engine. I know on the 40 series imported to the US they came with three or four row radiators. Here in AZ I've only come across one with the thinner three row. On years when a rear heater was available as a option less than half had the rear heater. Curious did the supports riveted to the front crossmember line with both the A/C and non A/C radiator support?

Iv'e been trying to find out what it's worth but nobody can seem to tell me? do you think it would pay for it's self to get the original radiator re done and sell it all together?

I would at least sell the old radiator with it as a core. Another question which fan shroud are you using? Would assume the A/C radiator would use a different shroud then non A/C radiator. As for value I would have no idea. .

I have a second home south of Flagstaff. Maybe some time I can come up and see your 45. My poor 45 is just sitting in a garage waiting for me to get a chance to restore it.

No it's the big one it came with the truck, it has a little cancer in it but not bad. as far as visiting that would be awesome, always looking to meet a cruiser fan:steer:. Were do you live now? and is your second home in Munds park?. I plan on going to the Overland Expo again this year they had a few cruiser's last year, maybe take mine if i'm done with it.

Currently live in Peoria and second home is Happy Jack. Not as close as Munds Park to Mormon Lake but still not that far. I did live in Flagstaff for most of the seventies. When we looked for a second up north Munds Park was the first place we looked. The small lots were a complete turn off. Places we looked at you took ten steps out of the home and you were in the neighbor's yard. Looked at the other locations south of Flagstaff but never in town. We wanted a place to feel like we were in the forest and not in town. I need to check out the Expo this year. Won't be driving my 45 but have a few other LCs registered for the road that was keep up north.

I lived in Peoria for a while, 99th Ave, between Peoria and cactus and i worked at the lucky's grocery store as a checker cashier!. I drove a Green Fj40 back then. wife had a baby,Don't know how that happened:hmm:. Decided to get out of dodge when the outer loop came in and been up hear ever since,About 30 year's
