Howdy

My truck haves a coolant leak on left side on the bottom that not always it's there, sometime it's dry and nice and sometime it's leaking. Also is overheating too.
I replaced the termostat, lover hose and clamps and now what its next?
Its the worst problem that i had with the truck and beside taking the radiator out and check for any cracks, I don't see how I can fix the problem.
Any ideea on finding and fixing the problem will be very helpful.

Thanks

Left side as in the drivers side? If that is the case it sounds like it could be the PHH. Plenty of discussion on that, as search will give you loads. If it is the left side looking straight at the rig, i.e. the passenger side then it could be your rear hear lines. Either way you should climb under and take a closer look.

And it is overheating...well how is the overall condition of the coolant system? Is it low on coolant? When you changed out the thermostat and lower hoses, did you bleed all the air out of the system? Have you done a full system flush and/or overhaul? How is the condition of the fan clutch and the belts? You may need to start addressing/inspecting each of the cooling systems components to determine what is causing it to overheat.

Need a more exact location. Left side (driver's side)? Front of engine bay or rear? How much coolant? Since its overheating you're probably losing a lot. Check the PHH. It's on the back of the engine head on the drivers side. Also, if your heater control valve is cracked, it can leak down the back of the block. The valve is mounted on the firewall just above the valve cover.

Its on the left when you are looking at the rig.
Hmm, hear lines. I will check them too better.
I did bleed all the air but I don't flush at all the system. The belts, am not to happy in despite that when are hot are looking better then are cold....Fan clutch looking OK.The coolant is low only on the overflow reservoir and after i took the over flow reservoir out to check for cracks, the radiator lost just little bet of coolant. ( it's looking like, first all the coolant is leaking from over flow reservoir)
First time I had problem with lower hose and the clamp. After I replaced them all was fine for a wile.
The strange thing its that not all the time its leaking. right now, after 4 days of leaking its not leaking at all:bang::hmm::confused:
I am all most ready to pull out the radiator and check for any cracks. the bad thing it's that I live part time in the mountain and it's not to good idea to work on the cruiser there in case if I will brake something.
thanks

passenger side
heater control valve look like they have some problem ( white looking "dust"around to one of the hose, but no wet)
and down from the block can come in the front in despite that the cruiser is a level ground?

thanks

Make sure you change your oil soon after over heating. I'm currently working on replacing my main bearings on my '93 because I over heated due to the silly plastic jug leaking on the factory raidiator >:/ that radiator has caused me a lot of heartache. The first time it leaked I blew my head gasket. I'm learning a lot about my 80 this way but it would be more tollerable if my 40 wasn't down too. I was carrying two gallons of water w me and only screwing my cap on half way, first "click" so it wouldn't put extra pressure on the leak. Best of luck and fix it quick.

Im adding oil almost weekly and that maybe keep the oil fresher after a overheating. Also, I use lucas heavy duty ...
I have lots headache too because I can find the problem.
4 days the radiator is leaking 4 days it's not :hmm:.
I am looking to take everything out and to check every part from cooling system.

Have you attempted to pin point the leak when you notice it leaking? Rather that tearing apart the entire cooling system, I would first focus on tracking down the origin of the leak.

Yes I did on last week weeks and at first I found that the lower hose clamp don't was holding to much. I replaced and all went fine for few days.
That its the fun part that I cant traced the leak and it's not a logic on the way how the leaking its is .
Last night the leak come back again. Also I noticed a huge splash of the coolant on the frame on the same side ( passenger ). This it's the third time when I see this and after that all its dry and nice !!
