has bar spacers for load distribution (thickness matched to location - done by planing)
also spacers inside brackets to prevent motion front and back
bolted down with 5/16" bolts to prevent side and up/down motion
1"x2" steel tube extending out to be bolted on trailer or roof rack.
extension also acts as support for opened half base
added: if anybody cares, the spacers are made out of 1/4" stock. They can be used pretty much as is in the center sections, but have to be thinned considerably between the brackets and the edge of the tent. The frame is not perfectly flat so the gaps vary depending on where it is...
