It has been a while, but I am still making progress on my 72 pig.

I have the SOA complete, and am working on a pair of 62 axles now.
When I rebuild the stock springs, I wanted to install beefier, greasable shackles. Everything I see is either wimpy stock gear, or beefier lift shackles. I have all the lift I need. Where do I find a solid shackle with no lift?
~ Thanks

I dunno about the greasable shackles...I've seen a few pics of busted ones.
Hardly ever see a pic of a busted OEM shackle bolt or pin.
But, yeah, call Kurt.

pin or plate, a busted shackle is a busted shackle. at least if the pin breaks, you can put a bolt in it's place. i found heavier duty stock height anti inversion shackles for my 40 years ago,but i don't remember where. might've been specter

Sort of true... except the pin on a greasable setup are notorious for breaking. In hindsite on mine, I would liken it to keeping a 10 spline LC axle and putting a V8 to do rock crawling. A ticking time bomb:frown:

i never had issues with the pin breaking in my soa v8 40, but they're kind of pointless unless you a) use the correct grease (let's face it, are you really gonna change out the cartridge and flush your gun to put the correct grease in) and b) use poly bushings (which most people do now anyways).
