Well while all you guys were off wheeling, I managed to do one Cruiser related thing this weekend. I picked up a Yaesu FT8800 and got it in the truck. Didn't get too carried away with doing a super neat job, but it still worked out pretty good. Used a couple of L brackets off the Uniden 520 CB (which was already mounted to the center console) mounts, added a couple of pieces of strapping to the center console for added support, wired it straight to the 2nd battery, and put a Larsen dual band antenna on the front fender. The stacked radios seem plenty solid and the ham controls are easy to access.
Looking forward to trying it out. Do we have a semi-official club frequency?

Truck looks great Norm!146.4 is what we use.

Nice installation!
146.4000 is a good one, depending where we are. Get a "British Columbia Frequency List" book and check your destination to see if our frequencies are in use by somebody else. Depending on where we are, I use 147.5500, 147.6000, and 146.5800. I guess you passed your test all right. What is your call sign?

Yep I passed - I got 99/100 on the test! Still waiting for my call sign confirmation.

I saw that BC frequency book at McNews, I'll grab one next time I'm up there.
