Hi Guys,

I purchased a used Land Cruiser about a month ago. After living with it and fiddling around with it I have a few questions.

It currently has TRD forged chrome rims with 285/45 R22 Toyo tires. The spare rim appears to be stock with a 285/60 R18 Dueler H/T tire. They look good, but I would like a second set of rims for winter tires. I’d like to buy takeoff Tundra rims with tires, but the ones I’m finding on Craigslist are 270 or 275’s. Any issue with going to a narrower tire and rim? Can you run without the TPMS in place? Do you get a fault light in the dash?

I should have looked closer at the hitch area. Pic is below. That seems like an awful lot of rust. Can this be replaced?

The parking brake is useless. Any easy adjustment on this? I've read a thread on this and it looks pretty straight forward.

Thanks for any help.

If you feel ambitious remove your rear bumper and wire wheel or brush the whole rear crossmember and hitch. Then coat with a rust inhibitor (insert brand here) That'll ensure you get all that's unseeable and will protect for years to come. I did and don't worry about it now.

I was having a rear bumper built at the time though so I was bumper-less for a week.

RE: parking brake, you probably just need a flat head to tweak the tension in the rear wheel, and/or a quick tweak on the hand lever itself.

rear wheel parking brake adjustment (tundra brake but similar - quite simple)

lever adjustment (this is very easy)

I rolled 275's for a year or so, worked out great! congrats on the new rig!

Found some 2016 Tundra rims and tires at a decent price supposedly came off a 2016 Tundra. The one pic is below. At this point I do not know the tire size but the pic shows them to be Michelins. How do I check that they will fit. Stock Land Cruiser with no lift.

Those tires are proly 275/65 R18's, they'll fit...

Great Thanks. I think they'll look pretty good with the Red Salsa color. And they are cheaper then replacement tires.

Had mine for 4,000 miles now and am very happy. Tires still had the nubs on them.
