Question for you 70 guys......

I have a 79 series bed that I cut down the middle, removed 2.5" and welded back up. I will be putting this on an LN106 Hilux. Question for you guys. Would I be able to mount a 79 series fuel tank under there still? Does it mount to the body, or to the frame? The LN106 has a 10ish gallon tank, and extended tanks are almost $3,000. I am hoping I can just mount a larger 79 series tank under there and call it good.

Any idea how far apart the frame rails are on a 79?

There should be full frame dimensions available at the back of the chassis/body FSM. Not sure if there is one for the 79 in the resources section but there are a couple for the 75.

The LN106 has a 10ish gallon tank

LN106 fuel tank is 65 litres, which is just over 17 of your gallons.

Then the fuel gauge is way off. I fill it when it gets around 1/4 of a tank left and it is 8 gallons. At 1/2 full it is around 5-6 gallons. Anyone else have this issue?
