I need a 100K ohm potentiometer for a project for my 62. I would like to use a linear slide type one because I can make its installation look factory. But from the looking around I've done, these can't be gotten in a magnetic/solid state flavor. If need be (in order to use a magnetic one), I could use a rotary (gotta be single turn and the lowest tolerance I can find) type, but I'd much rather not if I can avoid it. Power handling isn't an issue (it'll be taking about 0.006 watts), so no biggy there.

So my question is, are there solid state slide type potentiometers available, or am I stuck with rotary style if I want solid state? Also, where's a good place to find what I need? There's no Fry's near where I live (and Radioshack is out of the question). I normally go through Digi-Key, but just curious to see if there are better options out there.

Try Radar electronics, they are bases here in Spokane too

Worth a shot. This project will give me motivation to buy a better soldering station to keep in the shop, too.

US - Electronic Components Distributor | Newark.com
Mouser Electronics - Electronic Component Distributor

I get just about everything from Digikey or those two. The Newark web site sucks but they have been around forever and have good phone support. Mouser is another one that has been around since dirt was new.

This place has stuff but it's a grab bag, sometimes you get lucky and find what you want, other time it sparks an idea.
