Question about welded rear diff

Anyone else ever seen or welded spiders this way?

That was the way they did it in the 4 spider gear setup in the link I posted earlier in the thread. Might want to check the gear meshing with only 2 spiders gears. That pattern looks like it may not be right for a cruiser diff. Google search shows most leave an extra tooth unwelded when doing this. Overall works like a mini spool

Yeah, it looks like you just want to weld the two side gears so the two spider gears can mesh all the way in. I guess you could weld the other two to maybe make it stronger but you have to make sure they can still mesh all the way together with the side gears. I plan on doing this as I destroyed something in my Aussie locked rear diff but I haven't opened it up yet. :(

Meh, I'll just have my buddy weld them like the pick. Looks like it would work just fine. He agrees that it should work. I have extra gears anyway if we mess them up.
