Hi guys,

I have a LJ71 with 2LTE engine and I would like to replace it with a 13b I have sitting. Now I like everything to stay and look as stock as possible and I wonder how I can make the stock in dash tach to work with the new 13b engine?

I was told that one way to make it work is replacing the 13b pump with a 14b pump since this 14b pump comes with a plug signal for the tach. Will this really work? Any other solutions to make this work besides using the 14b pump?

My 2LTE is Auto but 13b is going in 5sp.

Any input will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Have fun with this one... As it is a TE engine originally the Tach signal is via the ECU and it uses a different signal as compared to a stock std signal from a mechanical pump.
I know I have tried.
Your in NZ ? as Parrots in Chch can do it for 60 bucks I am told....

Can they do mine - both of my 13B-T's cannot get the TACHO working after both of them converted from 24V to 12V.

damn, I am very far from NZ !!!

Thanks for your input kbushnz.

Anyone else came up with a solution for this??? :)

Oh I see, so you have the stock tach working now on your truck, am I right?

Can you tell me the link of the kitset from jaycar that works for you?

Thanks again.

Unfortunately I am currently having issues with the Jaycar kit..
It wont condition the signal properly so like you I am looking for a solution.

Anyhow here is a link to the NZ site. I think its available in Aussie too.
Not sure about the rest of the world.

Thanks for everything, I think that something easier to this will be to forget about the stock tach and install an autometer unit lol
