I'm new to this forum......but would like to ask an opinion of other members.

We currently own a 2013 Venza LXE AWD and a 2012 Tundra Platinum 4WD with Borla HP exhaust and TRD cold air induction. The Tundra is STRONG!

We looked at a 2013 Land Cruiser today at a nearby dealership. My wife and I have fallen in love it. My plans are to wait on a 2014 to hit the showroom and see what kind of deal I can cut with my Tundra.

How can I expect the LC to compare to my Tundra as regards performance, economy, comfort, etc.

I've never driven a LC, so I don't know exactly what I should expect.

Not sure about the newer land cruiser, but I would hesitate to take out 60k vehicle out on the trails. My neighbor has an 80 series for Sale. It is mint condition, just needs maintenance baselined. It has 157k miles.

not quite sure that's what he's looking for A. I get the impression he's looking for "grocery getting" performance and not wheeling.

QH-- This is a good Sam question, perhaps he will chime in sooner enough. This page is probably not the best source of information on the newest trucks out there. I'd recommend trying http://www.toyota120.com/forum/index.php forum.

he wasn't really clear, just the impression I got when mentioning economics and comfort especially when discussing a brand new truck. Let's face it, these things don't necessarily apply to wheeling.

So is neighbor that selling the 80 the same guy that came to GSMTR? why's he selling?

, yes it is the same neighbor he bought two trucks within a very short period of time he is keeping his truck he wheeled at GSMTR and is trying to sell the other one it's a good deal

Sorry for the delay in response, a rotator cuff injury has sidelined me.

You are correct in surmizing I'm not looking for off road performance. The Tundra was bought equipped as I described off the showroom floor. When I speak of performance, I'm more interested in how it will do on the open road.

As one person noted, he would be hesitant to take a 60K vehicle off the pavement.....me to! Especially since the one I'm looking at is 81+

Thanks for the link to the toyota120.com, I'll look into that also.

Again, thanks for the commentary from all you fellows.

Just curious, but what king of performance are you looking for on the open road?

Speed, acceleration, comfort/ride/handling, fuel economy, cargo and passenger room?

Can you please be a bit more specific?

I see a lot of the newer LC's on the road, street tires, etc., and they obviously never leave the pavement, save for a "romp" down the occasional dirt road or driveway:lol:

For that kind of money, I'd buy something more suitable for open road driving. JMHO
