How about we start with the engine that used to be running fine until you fixed a bad wire.

Who fixed it? How was it fixed? What was the issue?

Go back to when the truck was running right.

sounds better.... one of my buddies whom i no longer speak to due to some random dispute, was the one who fixed it, it was a missing wire in the harness for injector number 2, new wire, and solder and shrink tube... i watched the entire time to learn... and when the truck did run right it was czu i just got done a motor swap, just ended up with a few extra nuts and bolts, but no missing pieces, took a few trips, put on 1,500 miles, than it developed a miss, changed head gasket and timing chain, still nothing, than, i had the upper plenum off for a week than it ran fine for a few days than the miss came back, im guessin thats when the wire went missin..., than up until a few weeks ago someone on here mentioned how the injector wires are spliced from 4 wires to 2 wires in the harness, my buddie went over it more carefully than i found and fixed the problem... and now i got this one... and again im sorry for my poor attitude

No need to be sorry. Water under the bridge.

There have been a lot of changes which make it hard to nail down something. I still dont follow how your truck ran fine with a missing wire. Doesnt make sense-especially after you say when it was fixed the truck ran poorly. Maybe just coincidence?

Who did the timing chain? Why did you change the chain for a "miss"? Did you think it had jumped a tooth on the cam sprocket or it was so loose it was causing timing issues??

What is the actual year of your truck? Motor? Did you replace the ECU from the donor vehicle/motor when you did the swap?

the wire was there, but after a little bit the splice came loose and thats when the wire went missing and it started with the miss... wire got put back after finding out about toyotas planing of using 2 wires than goin to 4 for the injectors.... i did the timing chain czu that was my first guess for the miss, but i was wrong, so i tried replacing the head, the head is from the 87 motor and the valves didnt leak, so i thought it might work, that was a no.... the truck is an 87, the motor came from a 92, and i wanted to replace the ecu but the connectors werent the same, when i bought the truck it came with the original ecu but that has a hole in the case from corrosion, and one from a junkyard which is currently in it

I see.

I have a feeling that you are atttempting to run a later EFI setup with an earlier ECU.

I dont know man. Someone on here that knows about the ECU's might chime in.

actually im useing the entire efi setup from the 87, i tried using it from the 92 but after seeing the connectors were totally different, i said screw it and just used everything from the 87, the only thing from the 92 im using is the block and everything thats in it... the intake and all that is from the 87 so.... i dont know if that helps clear things up or not

thanks for your help, but i think i stumbled upon my problem... i thinks its my maf sensor thats screwin things up... i had to replace my master for my clutch, and i thought why not try starting it with the maf disconnected... i disconnected the sensor, gto it started, and the idle was smooth and even, but as soon as the throttle was pressed it died of course... so again thanks for the help, and agian sorry for me overreacting.. i do that too much
