That one looks pretty nice. I do have used car dealer-phobia. I looked at some 100's there when I was shopping for mine and they weren't all they were advertised to be. That said, that one sure looks nice! Does it look like there's something weird in the first photo just in front of the passenger door or is it just a reflection? Almost looks like the photoshopped something....

Looks like a reflection to me. The condition of the interior supports the reported mileage. Body seams appear straight. It would still be worth running the carfax, but that rig is a bit of a unicorn....

I'll agree that used car dealers are a pain--I enjoy the hunt though, so I don't mind engaging with them.

That said, the difference in reliability between a 90k 4runner and a 150k 4runner is pretty negligible.

On either one, I'd check CV shafts and wheel bearings along with frame rust. A PPI could be money well spent but asking another local mudder who has a couple more bananas may yield better results for the cost of a six pack. I'd happily do it but Seattle is a bit of a drive...

Oh c'mon KillersLC!

I think I might go over there this weekend and have a look. Any multi-banana mudders out there want to come along? Six pack or more would gladly be donated.

I'd post up in chat or in the regional clubhouse. Dealers are definitely shady, but I wouldn't let that scare you off. Most people have a bad experience with a dealer because of one or more of the following:

-Didn't do a carfax
-didn't do a PPI
-didn't have their own financing/cash and got screwed by the dealer financing
-got talked into extras (warranties, add-ons, etc)
-were unable to walk away

SO it's strictly a 4 runner due to the possible sleeping in the cargo area?

I'd get a 2.7/3.4 powered 4 runner. They are getting some age on them too at this point. However, a 22re/5 speed 4Runner would do the job.

A PPI would be the same, regardless of the year. The 22re would hold its resale value better over the 3.0

Really check into the rear window issue, they can be a pain/multiple failure points, especially if the PO went hacking around looking for the issue.

posted in regional clubhouses. thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, for sleeping in the back and from my reading here it seems that the 4runners are better in snow due to added weight over the rear wheels. I'm sure this is a matter of opinion.

Any luck?

Not yet! Really hard to find the good ones here at a decent price, and I sure wish I knew more than I do when I'm looking. Thanks for asking!
