My Car has now been Puking its rear Diff Oil for months. - I didn't overfill the Diff, I even made sure the Car was perfectly level when filled.
Today I noticed that it only Pukes the Oil when I reverse back a few metres before being parked.
I've always run Valvoline GL-5 SAE 75W/90 in the Diffs, would SAE 140 be less likely to be Puked out the Breather? :hhmm:

is this a car, like a tercel, or a truck like, uh, a truck?

if the breather is clogged, pressure will build up and dump out a seal.

and if you run a thicker oil it will mask the problem but not fix it. and probly make things worse, as its super thick, and wont fling up well.

clean it all off, and figure out if its coming from the pinion seal or the housing seal.
somtimes a few loose nuts on the housing seal can cause a leak.

Have you inspected the breather? If it was stuck in the open position, it might allow the oil to escape more easily.

How fresh is the fluid? I have seen this happen when the fluid foams, diff fluids have additives to prevent it, but some additives, contaminants, moisture, etc, can cause it to foam.

If you wheel it you should consider raising your breather so the axles won`t be filled with water and mud. Buy a 1/8"npt nipple and hose to fit it. A std fuelfilter and just run a hose to a higher point on your car.

It will fix it if the problem is the breather... :)
