Al,
Glad to hear you're okay. You're a cool guy in my book.:D

Sorry to hear the project won't be enjoyed by yourself. But I'm sure other projects will come soon enough.

Thanks man, and as far as projects go.....they are already here;)

Right on bro.

BTW, I'm working on a hybrid Torque Converter for the auto's. Once I get the project underway I'll post up.

Jimmy,
Sounds very cool, saw the thread where you cut one up.

Thought I would bring some pictures over from the other page before people just think we are just yapping again:D

Not at all, reserve is set at $8,000... I figure a stock clean 62 is worth near that price. It took two vehicles to build it and two years so its I feel its at least worth that, a lot of long weekends and nights after work went into this. I am not really in it to make money, never built the truck for that reason. I built it for me as a daily driver and a light duty trail rig when the crawler is down for mods. But driving the distance I have to at gas hovering aroun 4 dollars a gallon I just don't make enough money to afford it. Hell, I am not saying my work is as good as TLC's work, but I know there 60-80 series sold for 80,000 dollars.

Dude, 8k would be a steal for this rig. I know you say you're not in it for the money, but I hope you can make more than your reserve. This rig is clean! Good luck w/ the sale.

Wow, what kinds of modifacitions did you have to make to mount the body? Only if I had the money....

I love those 4Runner alloy rims. Takes me back to high school days.

Just spent the last hour reading this. Worth every minute.
NICE work man!

I ended up making all new body mounts, I think one of the stock 80 series mounts worked and the rest I had to make.

Thanks for the good word:beer:

bringing this thread back.....
Thanks for posting it...
It sure takes serves as a guide for a cool project !!!:bounce::bounce:

Who bought the rig... if it ever get sold ??

A guy out in Salt Lake bought it... I think it was for sale again, he needed money for a house or something along those lines.

Thanks for the good words!

TECH ???? for yah.
How far did you put the body of the '62 on the 80's frame...?
I see on the pics that is about 1"-2" of rear frame on the back.
Im going to start a similar project but its with a 60 and a vortec.
The frame is a '96 with a 4" lift on 35's.

You'll see once you get it on there that it can really only go in one spot, others if you are into fender trimming. You will have to move the motor around as well. If I where to do it again ( for a wheeler not a DD) I would keep the front axle as far forward as you could (trim front fenders), think " approach angle"...

Good to see you are still around Al. Hope things are good!

Yulp, still around... I just got back from a 2600 mile wheeling trip up to CMCC. Was a blast. Been following your build here and there, boy did that snowball:D

Def not into fender trimming (not yet anyways).
Yes, on the drivetrain. The body will go on first and then gotta figure out the positions of the engine...

Thanks fo the input...!!
