Excellent

Installed the top mount intercooler. I was originally going to mount it behind the grill but there was to little room between the grill and ac condenser and i was not looking to start modifying the front end. I will be adding fans and a 79 series bonnet scoop that i will mold into the original hood for added air flow

i was only aloud to spend two days of my long weekend working on the build, but i managed to get my gauges wired and mounted, my battery mounts done, and fabricated a belt tensioner bracket for the power steering pump.

Handled my steering, my ported and rebuilt steering gear arrived, i swapped in a saginaw pump from a hydroboost equipped g van. My local hose and fitting shop made me a high pressure hose from the Toyota and gm line ends. Also added a small cooler No issues after install it works like it should very tight and no leaks! I will be adding a PSC ram after i done modding the front axle and have the 37’s mounted

All rebuilt h55f and split t-case these 4:1 low range gears are an awesome upgrade i cant wait to test out! The tolerance to the case is extremely tight took about an hour of die grinding… with it installed my t-case shifter does not want to shift into high or low range properly as the boot is putting to much pressure on the shifter. This might be because i did an inch body lift or it is because my trans is slightly off from its original location.

My 37x12.5r17 km3 arrived it was unexpected i was told they would be over a month to get here. So now i need to find wheels and a nice set of 17x9 beadlocks should do

Started taking apart my door to change out these speakers in poor shape. My door cards are a bit warped and moldy on the backside so i will have to strip the mint condition upholstery and make the backing out of something else.

Took the truck out for its shakedown run may long weekend, took a short bumpy trail head to a river and at the moment i have only 2wd… previous owner did the soa but did not cut and turn the axle so i will be getting that done with a new set of double cardan driveshafts as well as fabricate my bumpers it should bring this build together nicely.
My egt’s are in check under 1100°F 15psi max boost and lots of pulling power. I can cruise comfortably at 65mph. First hand wash in 6months after i got back! Very pleased with this swap so far

got my intercooler fans installed custom made the shroud. After the derale dual rad fans and the dual intercooler fans my voltage at idle is very poor and the original alternator (freshly rebuilt) is putting out to low of amperage to keep the batteries charged. So i have done a bit of research and i think my solution will be to add a auxiliary electric vacuum pump one off of a promaster van seeing as there available and cheaper then some popular after market brands and changing the alternator out for a high output gm single wire alternator to keep up with demands. I will be running a healthy sound system (sub/amps), my inverter, a winch, lights Fridge etc… all this adding up to a fair amount of draw.

Alright time for an update on the 3b swapped fj60, after my Port Renfrew shakedown run and somewhat before that i noticed my coolant overflow slowly rising but never dropping when it cooled overnight. Turns out it got extremely bad in about two days and i had coolant pouring out of my overflow and bubbling like mad. Figured my head gasket failed so i did a leak down test and confirmed number 3-4 were both leaking air into the coolant. Not only that there was a pattern of soot all the way to the edge of the head on every cylinder. Now why after only 1000km on a mls head gasket and head rebuild. I turned to my machinist who was unsettled by a n/a engine at 20:1 compression that is now running 15lbs of boost. He said to check my liner protrusion which is a very small tolerance 0.0004-0.0039 protrusion i found i had uneven liner potrusion 0.0002 to -0.0040 from the intake side of liner to the exhaust side. This indicates a sunk liner not something i have come across on this forum infact i havent seen anyone talk about 3b liner protrusion on this forum. Considering how important it is I'm surprised. None the less this opens a opportunity for improvement on the performance side of the engine. I talked with my machinist and we are going to rebuild the engine, lower the compression ratio to around 17.5:1, increase head flow exhaust side especially, ARP Head studs, shave and ceramic coat the pistons, im installing a bov for quicker spool up between shifts and on off throttle. A externally regulated wastegaste and i want to try and be around 20psi of boost pressure. Still trying to stay below that 1100°F EGT. Now i know theres some dormant 3b gurus on here but if theres anything i should look out for on the rebuild i would like to know.
