the last pic was typical of the non existent chassis and yes infallibly it has the 4 inch chassis extension i badger on about. the cab is rusty mostly along the lower back and not at all in proportion to the chassis. the roof is rough but probably better than i currently have on project patina. shame about the windscreen i could have done with that. all running gear sealed up and intact, shafts diffs driveplates brakes etc

Nice score mate but very surprised on the chassis rust did this truck live near the beach. If you part this truck out I'm keen on the early door strikers.

yea it lived near the beach about 4 hours away; managed to coincide the collection with a few other errands over that direction. came from a farm judging by the junk behind the seats. had to take my own tyres; found a number of the original wheel nuts scattered about in the dirt. short term plan is to pull the seats and remaining rear cab lining to get those in a shed out of the weather and do some basic cleaning and fishoil of the old cab. will be parted; i have a backburner project for much of it.

ozcruiser will pull some door strikers for you off something. email a number and postal address

Thanks for the bump oz. I remember reading about these two trucks back in Feb. What's the fate of the east cost blue one..?

West I've just realised the sheer volume of parts you have..

The one in the photo's still sitting beside the old pacific hwy where I found it. WA this NSW truck doesn't have the 4 inch extension so it must have been a local mod they done on your side of the island.

thanks for that oz. this interests me; can't really understand why. its such a short extension. but every one of about 7 of the 62-64 chassis type that ive seen in the west have it. i hear recently of another 63/64 on a station couple hrs north of me; will get to look at it when i up that way next month.

The West Australian modification was probably needed to keep the steer wheels on the ground when touring loaded on the large WA stations. I would guess the NSW short wheel base models would be very nervous to drive around 60 mph loaded but it was not needed in our heavy south forests or northern rainforest conditions.

I saw an facebook post recently that suggested they'd moved it cause it stood in the way of a highway..? It looked pretty mint, but it wasn't the same pics you posted. This one was under a bridge. Is the one you found for sale..?

Not sure cult
I nether bothered to track the owner down because I'm a little to tall to drive this old truck. If your keen I might be able to put you in contact with the owner.

Could you please? How tall are you? I'm 6'4" myself.

Cult im not a huge man and they are a bit more cozy then the later ones, but not as cozy a 1962 toyota fq15 that i drive around the workshop occasionally i dont know how that old fella made it around australia in one

The truck will be a bit tight for me but I'd like to own it nonetheless. I feel obliged to save it from heading to the crushers or some dick who'll chop it up.
