picked this up last night for a yard ornament. old straight eight. OHV hints buick to me but I not sure. pedals seem to have an ornate "H" cast into the face of them. long way off topic but can anyone ID this old motor?

i should start a tead dedicated to these sort of images. mudders like pics right. passing thru a little bush town nearby and dropped out to the tip as I do; but sometimes even im amazed at what I find. 47, fj ute and fj sedan. there also a hg wagon and battered 70 series lower in the pile. who does this? lots of treasure but I had neither the time or tools on me to do anything about any of this. full floater rears anyone; both 47 and 70 have them still? seems they're free haha. rear glass, mint fibreglass roof, etc etc. amazing

yea fj in sedan and ute. what your mate got? have an fj ute myself and a few wrecks and bits and pieces for them. might go and salvage the 47 and fj ute if I get a chance; bit busy but. sandstone :-)

The door on that HZJ75 is still good o_O

dunno about the door cult but I could use that mirror arm. would def like the 70 rear axle housing; we crack these from time to time. welded up or swapped out 4 in about the last decade. would like the seat skeleton from the fj ute because mine has a later (ek?) seat. reckon there is value in the hg seatbelts (hard to get at tho). and don't get me started on the 47. there a slant 6 diesel in the pile also that i reckon is same as my ford cargo tipper. problem is would cost me a day and about $300 diesel to run a decent hiab over there to retrieve this stuff.... but its nice stuff!

now if only I could do a deal on this stuff, which is nearby....

hj45 - i worked shorty40 tojo buggies ("motorcars"haha) in the Pilbara in the early/mid 90s. never got that far up (chasing cows anyway). be great you got any Kimberley/vic river pics from the old days. beautiful country up there. I got couple Pilbara ones to post up someday if I ever learn how to scan the old stuff. some those good pics are courtesy of cult45.

ozcruiser - scrappys only get batteries and greencans from me. been a long battle; the ironore price downturn has come too late for so many (old cars) over here. I thought you were gonna chime in and id that old straight8 for me.....

ive got some footage of buntine's loading cattle out of the east Kimberley in the 70s.
love the sunvisor on the 45. reminds me of old yellow.
and 12 decks of cattle is not to be sneezed at; worth a $ this year!

Buntine Roadways, damn that brings back memories, used to change tyres in their depot in Katherine for school work exerience "lmao". some of those old drivers were cool, and their names "Pissy Buntine, Sarge, Rumbottle, Fruitsalad. we would have 2 or three roadtrains doubledeckers to load every few months depending how many you caught, that was fun.
That's me in the passenger seat as the strapper. sorry about quality but all photos are scans

gotcha, it was a matter of timing the Toyota never stopped on top of them, its the bullbar holding them down while straps applied.

loading them onto Hino pickup truck which held twelve head to tail, the old cruiser was dressed in battle armour

hj45 that is splendid!! will try scan a few over xmas myself (when the nephews are here to show me).

love the old roadtrack majors. and the jean pocket worn from a baccy tin.

heard a funny yarn bloke bullcatching east of Wiluna in his very first 4 speed buggy. he on the strap and missus driving, bull getting free and he shouting to nose the buggy forward a bit. she went left and down for first as used to and promptly backed off it leaving him and the bull standing there haha.

Speaking of good finds.. I found what I'm sure is a 45 SWB arkana/troopy and it's an early one, 3 speed ribbed dash
An early shorty with ribbed dash and a 45 ute aswell
If anyone wants the shorty or ute (last 2) message as they'll be scrap soon...
