Mentioned them in another post - this org prepares/delivers over 6K meals a day for the elderly/disabled in ATL!!

Open Hand

They need lots of help Today, Tomorrow & Saturday.
4 Wheel Drive is especially needed.

If you can make it today - you are needed after 11:00
Tomorrow we can meet around 930/10
Saturday meet at 930/10

Plan would be to meet down @ Open Hand

Should have 2 ppl per vehicle and writing materials. GPS will make life much easier for you and them so if you have it bring it. I can't tell you how happy she was to receive the assistance.

For Friday and Saturday, See Susan for details and reference "Ga Cruisers" so she knows who you are.

Friday--Just show up after 10 AM and they'll put you on the road.

Saturday--11:15 meeting time at Open Hands. ​

They need help on Sunday as well for all those who can't make it on Fri or Sat.

Again, See Susan for details and instructions once you get there.

I think that I can be there at 10am in the morning. I just need to see how work is in the morning. I guess I alsoneed to find a passenger too. I look forward to helping.

Hey Guys

Sorry for being delinquent - work kicked back up for me today and I think all 3 previous days were pushed into today!
I'm excited about the involvement! They were very desperate sounding when I spoke w them this morning.

Ted thanks for closing the loop w Open Hand - sorry for being out of pocket!

I may/may not be available for Sat morning - hopefully I'll be there! I learned that my 4WD is not engaging today - so had a little bit of fun getting out of the neighborhood! Gotta get that fixed asap!
 
I called this morning and the message said for drivers to be there at 11am. I am planning to get there a little earlier than that if I can get out of the office. Anyone else going to be there this morning?

Sorry for the confusion Eric, but I went today. It was a blast and let me tell you, the recipients of this food were all VERY appreciative. I made nine deliveries in a very rough part of town (Bankhead Hwy), I never felt in danger and was thanked many times by the recipients. It really was a small way to make a big difference. I would like to make this a more regular activity for myself and my family.

I think that we as a group can make a difference to this organization, especially during inclement weather as these people need their food. I would also like to see us help out on a more regular basis as well.

Hey Guys, w my truck on the fritz I'll offer up to be a navigator.
If anyone needs a 2nd person give me a call. I can meet down there or north of town and ride in. (I'm in Roswell).

We got down there late nearly 1:00 pm. We took a route all around East Point delivering sustainable foods to 16 different clients it was actually a lot of fun we didn't get back to open hand till after 5:00 pm. There were a couple of neighborhood roads that were still a little slick but nothing to bad at all. Sorry we missed everyone at 11:00 am.
