Hi, I installed an Aussie-locker in the back one year and nearly 20.000 miles ago in my heavy (3,5 tons) BJ 75. We are travelling with the rig through Southamerica.
Sometimes after a few turns and u-turns you can hear and feel! a very loud "bang" in the backaxle. 2 Months ago I had to make a U-turn with 4-L in Bolivia and all the bolts of the right side in the Fullfloater-backaxle where broken. Probably some of the flange nuts aren`t fixed correctly?
So I had tu put out the cardan to drive to the next city with a workshop. I checked the dif in a workshop as well as the tolerances from the gap from the pinion shaft and the spacers. Everythings seems ok. But the heavy noise (bang o clang..) comes more often and I `m not shure if this heavy noise is normal or not. Right now we are in Buenos Aires and we want heading south to Patagonia. We don`t wont to get stuck in the middle of nowhere...

What do you think, should I check the dif again? I think the noise comes from the gears when they are "jumping" in their right posision.

hi, thanks for your answer. I have another question:

When i lift only one wheel with the jack and then turning the wheel it makes more or less loud - tuck, tuck, tuck, tuck.

That´s the locker. You have the same noise like me?

cheers Jose
