Your link gives the whole flyer. What page is it on? Otherwise I am scanning thru a very slow PDF file..... :)

My thoughts with a winch are simple... buy one you can trust your life on. Cause for me the winch is protection if I went out alone on easy trail and got myself stuck. If I was 30-50 miles from town it could mean a whole lot of problems. Especially if you did this with the wife onboard ....LOL

Well, just found out my Warn 8274 is not as indestructable as I thought, blew it up last night, clutch and gears fell out the side. Maybe I should buy 2 cheap winches and have one as a spare.

PS anyone have an old 8274 with no motor for sale cheap?

Deny & Charla:
Are you coming to Cruiser Days? We haven't seen you for ages.

Bill, way to hijack this thread.
but yes I am going to be there, looks like Charla will probably be recovering from Alaska.
Cheers,
Deny

-end hijack, sorry

i've got an older 6000 pound if you want no motor but the gears and case are in good shape $100.

Costco Champion Winch

I believe that Costco has a 9,000 lb 2" receiver style Champion for about $420 last time I was in there. The Champion is a medium quality winch, not as good as Warn, but a great bang for the buck - they seem to be standing up on Vancouver Island trucks OK.

In any case if you regularly use a snatch block, it cuts the line pull by 50% and in principle -- should double the life of the winch.
