price check 1998

Looking at a 98 w/o locker for the wife. She sold her 80 to a Sienna but now she wants a cruiser again... so now we are looking at 80's/100's.

This one has higher mileage...169K, and they are asking 13,900. It runs smooth and everything works as far as I could tell. Not sure on the timing belt or starter...they didn't know...(dealer) but could haggle at that price...

yes I understand the 2000 and up have TRAC and all that stuff...but they will be out of the pricerange that we are looking at.

A bit high for CA, don't know about CO. In CA I see them going for that asking price with about 120k miles.

call me a cynic, but that seems high for the mileage... I had a '99 w/ 103k for 16-17, and sold it in the same price range 10k miles later...

No, would kill me. She already loves the 100.

Miles always confuses the sales price and seller and buyer harder to match up. I had to go out of state to get mine because of the Colorado prices. If you are going to keep it for a long time, I would not worry too much about the miles - just realize you will have some maintance items to do right away - preventive type only.

That's a lot of miles for a 98. Hold out for one with a rear locker. I don;t think the locker changes the $$ as most 100 owners don;t even know what it is. Keep looking. Figure $1800 to put arb in the rear and factor that in. I believe everyone needs a rear locker if you ever plan on leaving the pavement.
