i've got most of the old paint stripped off. no pictures yet.

i was wanting to dump it at a body shop and have them do the primer and top coat.

i have checked with several body shops and they either want a motor in it so they can drive it in and out of the shop, or they only do insurance jobs.

looks like i might have to learn how to paint !

i should rephrase that. anywhere within an hour and a half.

i guess a four hour round trip would be a good investment for a good paint job.

try Accent Auto in Tulsa. He has painted cars for me without engines. He doesn't like to but he will.

Are those tires still holding air?

yeah - have not had to put air in them yet. i have rolled it into and out of the garage a half a dozen times!

you mind me asking about how much accent charged? i talked to a guy today and he was talking about $2500 - $3000 i was hoping it would be closer to $1500 - $2000

Definitely try classic car body shops, that is who did my Pig. See my sig for a link to my build.

yeah i have read most of the threads in the 55 section and this picture of yours is kinda where mine is. we have all the lights and interior stripped out of ours. Thanks to my kids. i agree on the classic car route, its just i am in rural Oklahoma.

There are more people in the DFW Metro than in the entire state of OK. So its just harder to find someone to do good work and not want to drain your retirement accounts.

I am going to try okie_daves suggestions. If i could find new window seal i would pull all the galss and just have it sand blasted. there's a guy here in stillwater that will blast it for $150.

yeah we don't even have macco close by, i am going to call okie_dave's guy and if its more than i can cough up then i am going to learn how to paint. :D

edit: i have been reading up on those powder coating guns, any of you have any experience with 'em?

Which window seal? I have found all of them with the exception of the rear door fixed window.

Ditto, and I have made one that works okay for the time being.

i need the front windshield ( i think i found that on sor ), but the back side glasses i could not find a seal for.

if you guys know where to get them it would probably save me a lot of time and money.

edit: if i can can it sand blasted do any of you know how to prep a blasted body for paint, i know there will be lots of fine dust that will need to be removed.

I got my back side glass and tailgate weatherstrip here. http://www.pvcruisers.com/catalog/

i have 33 vendors saved in my "cruiser parts" favorite folder and that company was not one of them. Also my ignorance in "tech talk " is clear here. i have been searching for window seals, not weather stripping.

sand blaster here we come.

amos...go here and and click away https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=98943. Much good info. Also, post up a thread and show us all what you are up to. If it weren't for the folks in that forum, I'd still be nowhere.

Also, be sure to call Seth at PVCruisers. He's depleting his inventory and I think he is planning to close the business. John at Slocruisers has some rubber too (slocruisers.com).

Windshield/ SOR/ $39/ 120-03G-A
Cargo - Left & Right/ PV Cruisers/ $230
Left Rear (small)/ $UnObtanium/
Right Rear (small)/ $UnObtanium/

and have any of you guys added a third row seat to the back of a pig.

i thought maybe i could get a stock back seat, and adapt it to a third row seat.

another option for some on the rocker panels: My rockers are in very good shape actually, amazing I know, I plan to cut some access panels in the rear of the rockers, paint the interior the best I can and then reweld the panels back on. Just another option for some.
