These transmissions are fairly robust and it could be just the solenoids and/or the valvebody that could solve the issue. Case and point, we replaced one on a vehicle at 150k miles with a refurbished valvebody that included solenoids from ebay, for under $200. Reused 50% original and added 50% new fluid. Over 10k miles later no issues.

For $200 I might try it.

Toyota valve body is $$$

Well it was a quart low on trans fluid. Fluid does not look healthy.

Topped it off and will see what happens over the next few days.

If it seems to be healed I’ll change the filter and refill fluid

Oil change - 5w30
5 tire rotate and balance
Topped off transmission fluid
New Toyota wiper blades

I’m kind of at a crossroads with my 200. It’s a fantastic platform that’s setup absolutely perfectly for what I do with it.

It’s paid for. It fits the family. Tows the boat fine. Adventures well. Really a great rig.

It needs a driver seat bottom cover, trans is being stupid occasionally, timing cover leaking, valve cover gasket leaking, long range sending unit is leaking when completely full, random 2-4 misfire codes paired with each other. Comes and goes with ign cycles. Amplifier is on the fritz. Nothing $5,000 won’t fix.

My fault is I physically do not have time for all the things it needs unless I take it out of commission for 6 months. Or pay someone to work on it (not happening).

I drive it occasionally, personally I would rather drive my 40. Not for dislike of the 200. More of my simple mind loving the 40.

I tried to fall in love with my 200 again over the weekend, then it turned the Christmas tree back on the dash on the way home.

But hey we got to hang out as a family and had a great Sunday. First world problems that my luxury automobile needs maintenance.

I guess I needed to rant about nothing for my own mind. I go back and forth on selling the 200, and the simple fact is I don’t know what I would replace it with.

Best vehicle God saw fit to create. I understand your frustration though, I went through that with my first 80. I eventually sold it and then bought another one 2 years later...

That’s what I ultimately don’t sell it. I know I cannot replace it without buying another one. The mods you did to this one make it perfect for my useage.

It’s been great. Just frustrated with myself more than anything for not having the time to care for my rigs like I need.

Having 2 built cruisers is a full time job. On top of being a dad who’s actually involved. Add in 50 hour demanding work weeks while trying to spend time with your spouse.

Ka-chow.

No trans codes on the three drives this week. Even ran the LRA pump today instead of going and getting fuel.

I just need to take a few days off work and bury my time into this thing. It’s truly a great rig.

Mickeys are getting loud as to be expected. Or I’m getting old. But damn I love how they look.
