Preamp output question

I need the help of some stereo geeks on this forum I got an Infinity Basslink powered sub but it's not producing sound. What I was curious about is how much voltage should I expect to find at the RCA plug that goes into this unit? Another words, how much voltage does a typical single DIN stereo puts out of its pre-amp RCA output on the back of the head unit? I need to figure out if it's the long Monster RCA cable or if the Basslink is having issues.

Oh yeah, the power is good to the Basslink as well as the remote turn on signal from the HU.

The unit is Sony MEX-BT4100P and I can't seem to find anything in their manual. Here's the manual http://pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20121209130700/Manuals/158/158BT4100P.PDF

Not sure if it's suppose to be 4volts or 1-2volts DC.

EDIT: Crutchfield tells me it's 2vdc.

I'll skip ahead and confirm it's 2 volts.

All sarcasm aside The basslink should be fine with 2 v. Do you have a 12 volt turn-on lead connected from the head unit to the basslink?

Some radios have shared outputs and have setup options that need to be set to send low freq to that output, have you checked that?

I need to make sure that I"m getting 2vdc at the Basslink and if so, why it isn't working. It was working fine for a long time so hoping a simple setting is all that's messed up. Thanks for the suggestions fellas.

Just a quick followup. The pre-amp output is 2 volts *AC*, not DC! Sound signal is measured with the DMM set to the AC scale. Anyway, my head unit is in fact putting out power but the basslink is not responding to it.

Yeah that's what I thought so too but the Fluke wasn't registering the pre-amp output in DCV mode unfortunately. Crutchfield guy had me use the ACV.
