Came home Friday and it just started leaking. No other leaks before this. Hoses were old and starting to crack but the radiator was the culprit. Seems these are consistently going bad in the 150k-200k mileage range.

Dealer got me for $1k... sucks when the dealer cost is $356 bucks for the radiator too.

Don't know about Sin but sure am appreciative of his awesome rig "Avatar" that I inherited. Since I took over almost two years ago have added a Safari Snorkel, 12,000lb winch and ARB front locker - the "Beast" as we have renamed him now serves us as our in/out vehicle here in the mountains of Guatemala where we live and work. The 8 hr trek into our Mayan village from civilization is quite heavy driving with two river crossings, so most of the vehicles time is spent off road. Other than a bad CV joint I have had no serious mechanical issues with the rig , just clocked 130,000 so hopefully have a lot of good days left together...

gregundi, that is awesome. Glad to hear that the "Beast" is working out for you. I will be making my way down to Central America in a couple of years...looking forward to taking my 100 series on a long trip down to South America. Any tips you have for a 100 series rig headed south through Guatemala and the rest of Central America?

I also second the use of distilled water to flush the coolant system. I recently did my 90K mile service and have run distilled water (two flushes) for the last couple of weeks. I will be putting the Super Long Life Coolant in my 100 this weekend. Four gallons ran me about eighty-five dollars...unfortunately fluids are one of the cheaper sides of the 90K mile service. :)
