I was lucky enough to be side-swiped by an uninsured motorist in my 200. The body shop is charging $250.00 for "reprograming the computer" because the driver's side mirror/camera was removed during the repair. Is this necessary? or is it just another quick $250 in the pocket?

Depends how you look at it. If you are paying directly then negotiate to half that price. This is the surcharge for paying for our society's indulgence. Meaning the illegal, unwilling, and intellectually/educationally unable.
