Really sorry Jes, we'll be praying for you.

Thanks guys. I'm actually heading out tomorrow morning from Jackson. I'm gonna try and throw the lift on this afternoon if anyone wants to help.

Gramps was my namesake, grandfather, boxing instructor, and buddy. He was a real man's man. He was a fighter pilot for the Navy in WWII. A school principal for most of his adult life who took up odd jobs in the summers to help supplement his income(and to satisfy his sense of adventure.) He worked as an under water welder. Faught fires in west Texas. Ran shrimp boats. Flew survalence for the Texas Rangers and preached at small Methodist churches. After retiring from teaching, he ran the Methodist children's home in Waco. He was the only father figure that some children had, but to many of them he was all they needed. He was 5' nothing and a hundred and nothing but everyone called him Big Jes. Yall would have loved him. They don't make em like that anymore.

I was able to drink a beer with him a few weeks ago. I'll never forget that time. If you still have grandparents, spend some time with them. Jes

Well put, Jes. I remember you telling me about your gramps. Safe travels and my condolences.

Steve Smith
