Hey y'all

I have a fairly well built 87 4runner/ Manual 197,xxx mile. Rebuilt front, Tie rod to pitman, Upper, lower ball joints & new shocks. Alignmented recently but seems like it might be one tooth off on the pitman arm? It goes straight but the steering wheel is a bit off.

Personal preference - Is there any way to turn down the pressure on the power steering pump? I would like my steering to feel heavy and require a little muscle to turn it out of a parking lot. Currently, It feels that my 6 pound miniature dachshund could drive it around without struggle.

Gnob - Jefferson State local as well. Thank you for the advice -

Adjusting the caster will effect the feel of turning the steering wheel at all speeds? Currently it feels like a big old boat. I did adjust my adjust nut on my steering box but was worried about binding issues. Though it does feel better with steering wheel play.

I just want to clarify that's correct.

A worn box will shop some slop before responding.
Keep in mind, driving down the street your steering wheel position does vary a bit based on road cant etc.

Castor effects return to center and overall feel.
