I saw a video somewhere and was intrigued. Turns out Volvo used electric power steering pumps in the mid 2010s ish. Self contained unit with reservoir, pump and motor. You can pick up an imported new unit and get pigtails for about 215 bucks from Amazon, maybe cheaper at a wrecker. Thoughts? GM gear box with electric pump for ps on a stock 2f setup could be nice. I bet the pump would fit where my charcoal canister is.

Obviously there would additional costs for plumbing and electrical, as well as mounting bracket setup. They were typically mounted in the front fender.

Yep, we put one on a customer’s cruiser and tested in my own 71, both with 80 series steering boxes. Both cruisers were on stock size tires and it worked pretty well, I think they would be ok with up to 31/33’s on the street. Haven’t tested off-road.
