Power steering pump gear torque vs set distance

Well, I have good news to report, I removed the pump, reset the gear, and it is now running quiet in the truck.

I have some leaks that I need to run down because I did not replace the overflow hose or the hose that connects to the steering gear, but I am working on getting those replaced.

All in all I’m ready to be on the other side of this messy ass project ha

This is the hose that is not happy that it got moved a little bit when I was doing the high-pressure line.

There is a crack somewhere in it, and it is so rockhard, it is very difficult to not only get to, but remove.

Anybody have any tips on this one?
