Is everyone still using the metal cooler line on the return side? I have the GM pump with a hard line (metal) to the Toyota box. From the Toyota box I have a flared hard line to a rubber line to the flared hard line cooler, then from the other end of the flared cooler line a rubber line then to a flared hardline back into the GM pump. After running the McGrew this weekend I lost most of my fluid and found it was leaking from on of the rubber lines. I tightened the hose clamp but it still leaks. I can't see any damage to the hose and it looked like it was coming out the end of the hose past the hose clamp. I would like to run a high pressure line from the box to the pump to bypass the rubber hoses and metal flares on the cooler line if possible. I am guessing there is too much pressure on the rubber lines and it is pushing fluid past them, although this is the low pressure side.

Any ideas?

Your problem may have been caused by the insufficient cooling from those hard line coolers. My little radiator gets pretty damn hot... I was supprised. I have no leaks using only hose clamps here. Before this cooler I had the resivior come off the back of the chevy pump and I was told this was due to age/overheating.

I went to the autoparts store and bought a $20 auto tranny cooler for a "small car" (hindsight I should have bought a little larger one). Since the return line in under little pressure I run the return through this small radiator before running back to the pump. Works great and pretty cost effective. Since I don't have the AC radiator there was a ton of room in front of the radiator to stick that thing.
