Is your power steering system "over pressurizing"? Is your system impossible to bleed?

Hey guys, little PSA about power steering problems. I have encountered this twice in past couple months on customer vehicles.... with no documentation of the fix here on mud.

Is PS fluid shooting out the top of your resi when your cap is removed? It's probably improper alignment of the filter screen housing and the low pressure return port. Over the many years, the filter screen housing pivots inside the housing. When the fluid returns, it hits the wall of the screen housing, making fluid shoot out the top of the resi.

Solution- replace your resi with a new OEM Unit (PS resi: 44360-60170). Or, properly align your filter screen housing.

Remove the cap of the resi buy undoing lock tabs. This will give you access to rotate the screen housing back into proper alignment.
