So I was unloading some items on the passenger seat from the drivers side, and I guess I was leaning on the seat controls. Well didn't even notice the seat was reclined damn near all the way backwards until I left the next day in the morning.

Definitely was like WTF is my seat doing reclined, and best I can figure I was leaning against the controls. Well I tried inclining it and it won't move, click, pop, whine at all for incline. all the other controls work fine. It was cold as hell that day (and pretty much every day since -30C before windchill), so I thought maybe when I drive around and warm up the cabin something will loosen up, nope still won't move at all.

Did some searching, found more posts about the gamiviti fix and broken knobs on the control panel, but not much about incline/recline issues.

Are these control units servicable? I'm assuming with all other controls working it isn't electrical (up to the seat anyways). The switch itself feels good when going from incline to recline so I don't think it's physically broken.

I feel like when I'm driving around and have to lean back to rest my back that I'm one of those goofy 16 year olds driving around I always make fun of with their seats reclined all the way hahaha.

Mine quit too. I ad to replace the switch. It was obviously broken though. the whole controler is one unit and spendy. about $100 used.

I'm pretty sure there is only one power plug going to it all, so the problem is probably in the seat somewhere.

My buddy's cruiser had a switch that you had to finagle to get it to work. While we had the seat apart for installing new leather, we pulled the switch apart and cleaned all the dirty contacts. It worked great afterwards. I can't imagine how you would get to that switch without removing at least part of the leather though.

You might be able to locate the motor and apply voltage directly to it to get it out of baller mode... :grinpimp: I remember nearly every rental car I got in Saint Louis was adjusted that way when I picked it up! I don't recall for sure, but that motor might actually be in the seat back, behind the back panel. Remove the panel with a Phillips driver, two screws pointing up from the bottom, and slide it down(?) to remove it. It seems wrong when you put it back on, but it will make sense if you look at it for a while.

LOL @ baller mode. Man my back is killing me these days. I think I might just brave the cold this week and pull that seat and bring it inside and hook it up to a battery and try to bush fix something up.

Off to the wanted parts forum! :)

I am interested in what you find. I was looking at another 80 series to add to my current collection and one problem that I identified was the raise switch intermittently worked, but you had to fiddle with it while standing outside the vehicle to get it to work. That said, if you do tear into this, please write up how you do because I would love to have that info for reference! Good luck!
