A little history. I have a 94 80 series with manual seats. I would like the more supportive leather seats but I don't want to give up legroom. Has anyone tried to adapt the manual seat track to the power seat? You know, remove the motor from the seat and allow for the little bit of extra leg room that the manual seat allows. But, I know the recline funciton on the power seats is motor driven as well. So, I might have to remove the seatback and seat cushion from the power frame and install both on the manual frame. Just thinking out loud. Any thoughts? Just trying to make the 1000 mile drive to katemcy next year a little more hospitable.

Steve- have you thought of talking to an upholstery shop, perhaps they could replace the foam in your seats with something firmer.

You could swap the PS seat to the DS, often the PS seat is firmer than the DS seat.

Only in the 80 forum do you not get flamed for speaking of making your 80 more comfortable for a road trip.

Come on up. we'll tear that sucker apart in my driveway, see what happens. Worst case you have no seats in your truck so you live in Asheville.

:D
