I did not get information regarding its service history. I will pursue the matter and examine the other threads you referenced. I have to get my hands on the VIN.

I know I can afford this car. I just do not want to do anything unscrupulous since I really don't need this truck. I do want it nonetheless. I sound indecisive because I already have two vehicles with my fiance adding a third. I want this dam truck and am trying to reconcile with this decision. I like the feedback and knew this was the forum to obtain it.

Sell the pathfinder and get the cruiser. You're back to where you started, no? :D
Running the vin through carfax is usually a good idea -- it'll give you an idea of any possible issues...it's not perfect, but IMO, it's better than nothin'.

This vehicle had dunlop tires and not michilens. I read that the dunlops prevent swerving. Anyone have a preference on the matter?

ACE10

I thought I had one too many vehicles. I might have to upgrade my fiancees vehicle if this is the pattern I am seeing with your inventory.

I prefer my Goodyear MTRs :D

I don't think there's any rhyme or reason for what tires got slapped on...some got Dunlops, some got Michelins. If there is a reason...I've never heard of it.

Michelins are a better tire, IMO, but I wouldn't kick a cruiser out of bed for wearing Dunlops :)

dunlops prevent swerving....that's a good one....whoever told you that outta get sent to bed without dinner....lol

Michelin's on my stock 96, no complaints, 2500 miles on them in the past few weeks. Excellent tire...just too bloody small for me....ANY quality brand tire will work fine, the Michelin is known for geting some silly-long mileage on them tho.

not possible to have too many vehicles, tho I am down one right now..... 2005 BMW 325i, 96 80-series, 77 MGB, 74 FJ40....in the running corner....tack on a car trailer and a few non-running parts rigs, and the front yard looks messy. Had a motorhome until a few weeks back...sniffle....

if you in Chicago, there are a handful of 'MUDders in your area, and a few great wheelin spots for day trips. I drive thru there frequently enroute to Attica IN to roll my FJ40 over....lol

I've always like Pathfinders, nice cars indeed, but a Cruiser is a unique beast and I would not trade it for a Nissan (not that there is anything wrong with them).

I've always run 87 without trouble, even ran a tank of 85 without trouble (don't find that stuff too often). I usually get about 14mpg all around, hit 16.5 on the highway a few times (cause for celebration;)).

My 80 had 86K+ miles on the original Michelins!!!

I use regular with no complaints. Remember, a lot of the modification are detrimental to fuel economy. Initially with no modifications, my 1994(bought in February) got 16mpg highway. Some modifications later, 15mpg. I am getting larger tires in the morning and that may mean even less mileage.

Fascinating. With a properly maintained stock vehicle, I wonder if 14-16 mpg is the norm. Could anyone else attest?

Yes. I tend to get 12 in city only, 16 on the highway, and about 14 overall (mixed). Not great, but better than an H2 :flipoff2: :D

My 80 is at 144K and I just took off it's 2nd set of the michelins and replaced them with bias ply Swamper TSL's(which I much prefer :) ) I also have the Michelins on my 100 and the first set lasted 70K.

When I bought my '94 with 160k in stock trim, I was getting around 11-12mpg. Mobil 1 oil change, tie rod, and alignment later and I'm consistently between 14-15. Still stock.
I wonder if I could get another 1/2-1 mpg with synthetic atf (and a much-needed birf job)

I guess we'll be seeing soon!

I can live with 14-15 consistently. That would be a simple drop off of 2 miles to the gallon with my 93 pathfinder.

Is this mobil synthetic?

Larger tires will also kill mpg. I'm down 1/2 to 1 mpg since going from stock 275's to 285's.

Move up to 315s then ;)
You'll lose 1 mpg in city driving, but will pick up 3 or 4 on the highway. It'll help you drive slower too :D
