Didn’t know where to post this question on the WWW but have always trusted the credibility of the Mud Forums.
I recently purchased a 2012 Rav4 3.5 V6 with 20,000 miles on it from a large Toyota dealer 250 miles from home. After running a few tanks of fuel through - it seemed to run rough. I checked the oil and it was way over the full mark, upon changing the oil poured out over ten quarts (6.4 is spec).

My question is what type of long term harm could come from the overfilled crankcase?
Thanks

broken crank is the biggest one - from (as logical as this seems, most people just don't realize it) the crank hitting the oil. Get enough oil in the crank case where the piston compresses the oil and it will break pistons, rods or even blocks. Seen every single one of these things...

Other than that....
