In the effort of rounding out a good set of spare parts for the KZJ78 I was looking at starters and discovered there are two different versions of the starter. There is a 2.2KW and 2.7KW model. This reminded me of the commonly done swap on F and early 2Fs that use a gear reduction starter from a FJ60. If my research is right the 2.7KW was used on a couple later versions of the 1KZ and then possibly transitioned over to the 1KD. I am seeing if anyone has done this swap/upgrade not sure what to call it. I wouldn't mind a little more gusto from the starter on cold mornings, but also if ain't broke don't fix it. Just seeing if anyone has any experience with this because I couldn't find anything, but I might just be having a bad googling day.
