anything ever come out of this?

I Sent my box to WEST TEXAS OFFROAD, and got the redneck ram package. They check the box, clean it, tap it and provide you anything else you may need.

About to do this again to another box. Ill grab some photos as progress happens. I ran hydro with a stock pump with an auto transmission cooler and never had a problem, never over heated, never whined, running 37" tires.

i'm about to do it to what size ra did you go with i'm using a 1.5x8, where did you port your box? any pics of some ported boxes?

or does anyone have a picture of a ported 80 box?

ANYONE?

if you look in link up top it has some pics

I saw that one but i heard you were supposet to tap into that vein on top of the box, next to the adjusting screw, does it matter?

Here's some good info I referenced when porting my box.

Posts 28 & 29 reference porting the 80 series box.

Beno was kind enough to snap a pic of my box before it was assembled and installed. The second pic in post #71 (and below) shows the locations I tapped to best fit on the 80. The forward fitting in the Marlin thread is a very tight fit when the box is installed as the brake lines have a support mount in close proximity to the front side of the box.

Note: (as copied from the Marlin thread)
FJ80 Box - Top/End hole has pressure when turning right,
FJ80 Box - Side hole (TOYODA) has pressure when turning left.

It doesn't matter, either the front or the top of the box will provide pressure for turning right. If you do tap the front side make certain you check the clearance between the fitting and the piston as I found when installing the fitting on my box. I removed .125" - .250" of thread due to how I tapped the casting.

The 8" ram will work with all the parts mounted up front. You may need to address the panhard axle mount as I think the mount will be in the way of the tie rod. And don't forget to re-taper the two steering arms and pitman for the correct Chevy TRE taper (1.5" per foot IIRC)

i've had the steering on for a while now and i love it, it didnt interfere with anything, the joints are much bigger, and they have alot more angle in them
