I tried that one out in the store, just a dry run mind you. It was way to low to be comfortable for me. Probably great for the little ones and it does fold up compact.

Another satisfied user of the PETT. Mostly my wife, but sometimes me. You know what I mean...

Humorously, the first time we used it was in a camp we stayed in for a few days. Being frugal, we just used the same WAGG bag the whole time.

It held, but that's a mistake. You can use the same bag for several "uses" but you've got a potential mess on your hands hauling it out if you let it get too full. :o

But if it held up under this abuse, it proves it's trail rated.

Another vote for Pett, we have one and have put it through the paces. Those wagg bags are the best, you can solidify alot of stuff in those bags. I have also coupled the Wagg bags with a lugable loo on a 5 gallon buckets, seemed to be a pretty good combo, the lid kept the smell down. I have been eyeing that setup from Walmart it seems nice too. I think a good inexpensive combo would be Wagg bags on a lugable loo on a 6 gallon taller bucket. What ever you do get those wagg bags they are the cats meow of human kitty litter.

Made my own redneck foldup toilet.:hillbilly:

Old camping chair, two hose clamps, some strapping, screws and the seatpart.

First time i took that on a trip my friends gave me laughs but after 3 days most of them came around to borrow my shovel, the roll of toilet paper and the hot chair.
Yes you can even put a bag under it if you like to take souvenirs to the next bin.;)
Coata......maybe 10$

that is the best.. ive been doing it that way 25yrs .. aint had a problem with it yet cept i use duct tape to hold it together it came apart once when my buddy was on it.. its a good cheap way do it .. grab your morning coffee go over to the edge of the lake and sit on the throne .. as long as the mosquitoes are not too bad .. i kinda look forward the morning dump

For the guys using a thetford or portipotti type system, where do you dispose of the waste? The bag system seems easiest for getting rid of waste.

I actually have a lid on my septic at home to dump it directly in the tank....but you can dump it in a rest stop toilet or gas station. The bigger piece to the puzzle is to rinse it out at least once, and dump it again. An outhouse Porta San works good too.
