If you driving steady down the highway your front and rear propshafts will be spinning at the same speed or very close to the same speed. So if you shift the center diff mechanism will not have to overcome alot of speed delta from the two propshafts.

This is like any normal "Shift on the fly" t-case that you can usally shift at "any legal speed."

Do not try this when you are spinning your wheels. Then you will grenade your center diff. :crybaby:

they have a ton of different switches...i almost went with the minute man missile turn keyed! didn't get a lighted switch because the shop i went to didn't have any DC ones and i didn't want to wait for a mail order. i'm not good at waiting for things...

you can use the later rectangular CDL switches on older trucks...

Just put it down low next to the rear heater switch.

My truck came with a 2nd hazard switch so i got a poor-man's CDL for the best price. :D

I did not have to remove any tab to install the hazard switch as a CDL. FYI

ok, so it can engage...wouldn't that be really bad say driving down the highway?

No, it shouldn't cause a problem but I wouldn't make a practice of engaging the CDL at highway speeds.
