The OEM bumper is supposed to do that so the energy of the impact is absorbed instead of transmitted into the (non-replaceable) frame.
Understood.
Now I just realized my bumper isnt OEM. I hope they are inexpensive because I may need one for a occasional switch.
Well you can see why the PO dumped the OEM one, at least he didnt get the silver HFS bumper. I think the HFS looks tough also.

Been a while for my participating on this forum. First, my vote is for the OEM look on your rig. HFS if you are going to to do any serious wheeling, especially in the rocks.

Anyone know who makes those nice half doors on that beautiful 40? Would appreciate any info.

As for the dog, I have had two of them. Great trail dogs.

Look at my Fix-Up thread (link in my sig) for more photos of the doors.

These were made by Ehsan in Pakistan. I ordered them as part of a group buy way back. Search for Ehsan and you can find other group buy threads.

I've decided. Until/If I get a winch, I'm sticking with the OEM bumper. It is back on Uglina. I just like the classic look too much. If/When I get a winch, I will buy a HFS winch bumper (or similar). Thanks for all the input folks!
