Polishing A Turd

Got bored this afternoon and buffed up some random parts. Before would be the dirty ones after are the shiny ones. Not sure if there is a thread on MUD showing techniques on cleaning parts. I don’t care for patina.

How are you going about polishing these pieces? Are you hand buffing them or using a buffing wheel with polishing compound?
