I work in an office. I carried a Uncle Henry three blade pen knife for years. Fits nice in a watch pocket.
Now I carry a Leatherman Micra.
Scissors, Clip-Point Knife,Tweezers, Nail File / Cleaner, Flat Phillips Screwdriver, Extra Small Screwdriver, Medium Screwdriver, Bottle Opener(very usefull on ocassion), Ruler (Inch / Metric). I have changed a hard drive with it, not fun but doable. All in all not bad for a tool that fits in the watch pocket of a pair of Levis.

When I am outdoors I carry a Browning folding sheath knife my wife gave for our first aniversary. There are probably better knives around nowadays, but I'm a creature of habit.

I keep a Kaybar in my survial gear.

I guess the type of knife you carry could be a function of what you plan to do?

Honestly I've been carring around one of those Home Depot foldable utilty type knives. Sharp and convienent... the best part is if I break the blade I can just put in a brand new one. Works pretty good for me.

x2

I carry two knives, a SOG knive and one of these $9 specials from Home Depot. I can use the HD for pretty much anything as a new blade is a quick as tossing the old razor blade out and putting a new one in. I use it to cut ANTHING I want to without worrying about it.

The SOG I use for all the other stuff where a nice knive is convenient to have.

But seriously, I use the HD special 90% of the time and on a daily basis.

I give them out as gifts as well and everybody loves them.

By the way, I just noticed yesterday that Costco has a five pack for like $15 bucks or something like that.

I have carried a Case knife for 30 years and the same one if i might
add. It has never failed me and is still razor sharp because the steel
is of very high quality. it is a Stag Deer bone handled stockman.
Probably one of the best and most expensives on the market.
Here is a pic of it
