Yeah... I know - simple right? But I'm afraid this is one of those things where you break the first one then see how it goes on/comes off. They look like they're just pushed on. I can envision the guy on the assembly line with a 1 lb mallet just taping in place. But, is there a one-way tab? Do these things come off?

I'll go out to the barn and take a look later....haven't stuck my head in there in 9 months. But I'm thinking they are "insert molded" meaning the steel is placed in a mold and the plastic shot in around it....meaning no way its coming apart. I'll verify that.

@Prairie Swamp I believe you are correct. Dugan at ACC said he has never seen one come off intact.

I just removed one last night, but it had a very obvious screw in it. This was on unknown Toyota seats in my 1980 pickup. Assuming you are talking about seats that are a little newer?

Yeah - 1984... no screw. Looks like it pressed on with a one-way clip or "insert molded" as @Prairie Swamp mentioned. Odd for Toyota.
