Good day, MUD! :flipoff2:

For my 40th bday (2 years from now), my wife has approved a 10-day trip from Georgia to Moab, UT. In anticipation, I am looking to hone my skills traveling over the land in the Southeast. My request is 2-fold. Firstly, I will need to continue to build my truck out which is, IMO, getting somewhat close to ready for a multi-day trip including on road and off road tracks. Secondly, I would like to opt-in on some preplanned trips in the Southeast. I've done, not well, the Georgia Traverse and would like to venture further for longer. I know there are lots of people that are a good bit more adept at planning and executing than myself and I would like to take a few trips that have already been planned and documented.

Let the flaming begin but please let me know if you've planned any trips that you could relay for my use.

Thanks in advance!

@bonestock that sounds like a great trip, and you have ample time to plan it out!

You definitely need a shakedown run. Who else is trekking west with you in 2 years?

When is your Bday?
I'd avoid the summer months as its hot AF!
Maybe consider going to Cruise Moab for your first time to Moab.

It's in August. Hot tip on avoiding the summer months.

April/May and Late September-November are some of the best times to go in my opinion.
