looks like i am going to go look at it tomorrow

i used own a 69 fj55 many years ago.. the 55 is what i was wanting before i got the 60... the 60 is just the kid/ parts hauler
but i am at the point that i want a 55 again... and was lookin at the one for sale in golden bc.. but it need a clutch and brakes...

so maybe this one will work out... we will see... if it does work out then i will be selling the 60... any interest...

already changed out the lenses in the turn signals had some in the garage...:D

So cool. Well done, and a really sweet deal even if I didnt get your old 60 1/4 panels.:frown:

No worries as long as i get a ride in the 55.

So does it smell like a 55? You know that mix of gas, mildew, rot, rust and last but not least, character???

Im telling you man.... Hord a 3B when one comes up cheap and when you have time make the 55 a whistling oil burner whilst getting 25mpg.

If you bring a 55 turbo diesel to a club meeting attendance goes through the roof so you will have to come to more often!

You can give Seapotatoe the V8 and he can use it as backfill. Or perhaps a boat anchor.

Again, well done. Sweet truck.

yeah i do need a speedo head..
and yeah it does smell like a 55 .. cruised down this afternoon and alot bumps and ticks .. saw a truck on fire going the opposite way... all in all it was a good day

:D

What a deal on a good looking truck. You should keep the 350... 3Bs are wimpy:eek:
Who needs 25 mpg... Whe you can get 20 mpg with a cheaper fuel that's sold everywhere.:D
Or take there advise, pull the boat anchor, and give it to me for a song... It's not worth anything anyways ;).

Just kidding all you 3B guys, don't get all worked up about it.:D

Sounds like someone's never driven a diesel cruiser....

You know a 3b can be run on stove oil right?

and if you get 20 mpg with a 55 with a 350 you'll be able to write a book and sell the secrets in the states.....

Sweet lookin truck !

(Needs a diesel though...:hillbilly:)

well this is 5th landcruiser that i have owned... and will be the third with a 350 in it... so i know where they belong back in a chev...

did i mention disc brakes all around with fj80 master.. 1inch bore :D

the motor was rebuilt and has alot of chromie valve covers and stuff.. not thrilled on how the spark plugs are tied together .. will fix that..

i do see a 3B in its future or maybe a 2H:D

You're right, I've never driven one. I've only ridden in one.

If I can get 17 with a worn carb that runs rich, 5 year old plugs, and a shot vacuum advance, 20 mpg (imperial) is very possible.

Someone seems a little touchy.:hhmm:

Cool! Awesome to finaly see a "Pig" around again. Last time i saw one was when Seapotato and i went wheeling--you can imagine how long that might have been, and yes he did have, and was driving his own truck. Believe it or not!:flipoff2:

Can't wait to see it up close and on the trail.:hillbilly:

Haha, nah, no where near touchy, just amused...:flipoff2:

the caveat no one ever mentions with trying to get half decent mileage out of a 350 is that it will only get that mileage if you drive it " nicely"

Touch that gas pedal a few times ( to actually use the extra hp) and the mileage is cut by half.

You can drive a 3b like a complete asshat and get 25mpg worst case scenario.

I did type that reply on about an hours sleep, so my PC quotient was somewhat reduced...

Anyways, congrats on the piggy in the stable! Love it

so fixed up the plastic line that goes to oil pressure gauge with a copper line.. was leaking..

and fixed my speedometer with a speedo cable from a 40 and changed the gears at the transfer case.. old plastic ones were toast...

well at least i can actually tell the cop now how fast i was going when he asks... its better than guessing now...:hillbilly:
